I now finally have a nail wheel to swatch nail polish on, so I can start making nail polish posts! I'm a real beauty blogger now ;) no really, my nails always look awful, so it's better to use a nail wheel.
Anyway, today I wanted to tell you about one of my favourite Spring nail polishes - Essie Splash of Grenadine. I've been wearing it loads ever since I bought it about a month ago, I think it's the perfect shade for this season. It's what I call the perfect 'Barbie pink', a muted purply pink. Actually, it reminds me of the colour of orchids, too. Texture-wise, it's a creme nail polish with a shiny finish. It's perfectly opaque in two coats, with no streaks whatsoever. I also love the brush it comes with - like every nail polish from the diffusion line, it has a bigger brush which makes the applicasion so easy, even for a super clumsy girl like me.
The only thing I can complain about this nail polish is its price: as much as I love Essie nail polishes, at €12,50 they're just too expensive for me (and I just bought another one yesterday, sigh). It breaks my heart to think that they are only $8 in the UK, and even less in the US.

What do you think about it? Have you ever tried any Essie nail polish?

Skinplicity $25 GC giveaway

Today I want to introduce you to an awesome Etsy beauty shop, Skinplicity.
Everything from Skinplicity is completely handmade, vegan and free of harmful chemicals. Most of Skinplicity products are shea butter based, which makes them super moisturizing and good for your skin. Did you know it also helps in protecting you from UV rays? :)

Here are some of the products you can find on the Skinplicity page on Etsy:

1 // There are shea body butters in loads of different scents, like gardenia, jasmine vanilla and even a Chanel No. 5 inspired one!

2 // I bet this Chocolate Mint soap bar smells like heaven. Each bar is only made with natural ingredients and it's animal fats-free. Skinplicity soap bars will not only leave your skin deeply moisturized, but lovely smelling too ♥

3 // Look at how gorgeous these soaps look! I think they would be perfect as decor in a little bowl or something like that. They'd make a great gift too! Who wouldn't want these lovely hearts in their bath?

4 // I love warm, vanillary scents. What's best than a Sandalwood Vanilla Perfume Oil? These roll-on perfumes also come in Provence Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Romantic Rose and more. Skinplicity also carries solid perfumes, which I think are great for the summertime - there's no alcohol in them, so they won't stain your skin!

Skinplicity is offering Le Petit Faon readers a $25 gift certificate to one winner. The giveaway is international and will close on June 16th.

NYX Jazz Night palette

I recently received the NYX Jazz Night eyeshadow palette in a swap and I've been testing it out for the past few days. It's a really pretty palette that features both neutrals and coloured shades. The first row contains a matte black, a shimmery blue, a very pretty silver colour, a shimmery yellow and a purply magenta; the second row contains a shimmery white colour, a gorgeous olive shade, a dark purple, a medium dark brown and a shimmery lilac pink.
The first thing I have noticed when swatching the different eyeshadows is that they're not the same, pigmentation- and finish-wise. The black, yellow and white are quite chalky and they don't show up much. The others are much softer, pigmented and easy to work with! My favourite shades are the dark olive shade, the brown, the magenta and the pink. I made a whole look using them together and it was stunning!

What I really like about this palette is that you can create lots of different looks with it. I just wish the colours all had the same pigmentation! Also, the size of this palette is very convenient - it's about the same size as an iPhone, which makes it perfect for carrying it in your bag or travelling. Anyway, for what you're paying (around $8) it's a really nice palette and I would recommend it if you don't mind too much about the quality of some of the eyeshadows.

PS: Le Petit Faon now has a Facebook page! Go like it! :)

A personal update

 photo DSC_0314-2_zpsb9a90c09.jpg

As I don't want this blog to be totally impersonal, I thought it was time to update you on what's going on in my life! The last few weeks have been crazy - I'm in my last year of high school and I'll have my final exams in June, which is just a few weeks from now *gulp*. I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in Italy there's a huge, terryfing final exam on the last year of high school. A stressful two months are ahead of me, and I apologize for the forthcoming lack of blogging from now.

Also, my best friend and I have been accepted into a prestigious university in Rome! We'll study Law there, starting from October. I'm thrilled to move to Rome and start a new exciting part of my life, but I'm scared at the same time. Sometimes I feel like I'm still a little girl, and I think I'll miss my family very much. Also, I've lived in a small time for my whole life where I know basically everybody, so I fear I won't feel at ease in a huge city like Rome. But - I'm happy to finally start studying something different than the boring subjects I've studied for my whole life! So, you can tell I really have mixed feelings about this whole situation.

On a much less dramatic subjects, I'm kinda out of inspiration on what to blog about. Are there any types of blog posts you'd like to see here? I don't think I've ever done a tag on this blog, so any suggestion on that would be greatly appreciated :)

What's going on in your life?
