Holika Holika Holy Deer eyeshadow

On my quest to the perfect nude eyeshadow palette, I have found this little trio a few months ago and fell in love with it ever since. I'm talking about the Holika Holika Holy Deer eyeshadow in the shade no.1 Pink Brown. Doesn't it look lovely? There's even a little deer on it, and you know I love deers. This blog is called the little deer for a reason after all!

Kpoptown.com kindly offered me this product to share my thoughts about it with you. I think it's such a cool website - they sell the best Korean cosmetics brands (A'pieu, Etude House, Lioele, Missha, Skinfood and lots of others), but also circle lenses, jewelry, clothes, accessories and even k-pop CDs!

Photobucket

As you can see, the trio comes in a little tin, just like the Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek blushes (approx 5cm wide). More or less, they're the same size. The tin is sturdy, and the cap doesn't look like it's going to fall out if you throw this eyeshadow in your bag. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of it, but this product comes with a little sponge applicator which can always be handy!

Photobucket

Unlike 99% of Asian brand eyeshadows, these eyeshadows are matte. Unfortunately, the colours show up very poorly. They're not pigmented at all; maybe they'd work better with a damp brush.
The shades are pinkish brown (nice for defining the crease area), a medium warm brown, a champaigny beige colour which is a bit chalky but it's a good browbone highlighter/inner corner shade.
These couldn't work for a night out smokey eye, but they'd be perfect for a daytime effortless neutral look. Exactly what I look in a eyeshadow! I only wish they were a bit more pigmented!
For the price, you get a fairly good product; perfect to carry around in your bag, handy, complete as it comes with a sponge applicator. I wouldn't say it's the best neutral eyeshadow trio on the market, but it's a nice one.

Missha Signature Glam Art Rouge SPK102

I fell in love with Misshka Signature Glam Art Rouge lipsticks ever since I first saw them. Of course, I was immediately attracted by the classy golden packaging that makes the product so unique! I had been wanting one of them for months before I had the chance to get it in a multi-swap.

Photobucket

Also, the mold of the lipstick is quite unique, but it can make the product application a little tricky.
As always with Asian make-up, images and swatches on online shops are not very reliable, so I basically had to randomly choose a shade. Thank God I made the right choice! I picked SPK102, a dark fuchsia. The product is quite pigmented and it gives a sheer finish that's perfect for the season. I'd compare it to one of the pigmented Revlon Lipbutters (Raspberry Pie).
This lipstick lasts about 2-3 hours before needing reapplication. I find it doesn't dry up much, in fact it's quite moisturizing!

Photobucket

The one thing I'm not very happy about is that it has a very fake strawberry scent that, I'm sure, would bother lots of people. It's strong in the tube and it lingers on your lips for a while, so that can be really annoying. If you like your lipsticks unscented, steer clear of Misshka Signatures! The other thing I'm a bit disappointed about is that the bullet is made out of plastic. I think it ruins the whole thing and it makes the product look much cheaper! Even if there are many things I'm not fond about it, don't think I don't like this lipstick! I really enjoy it, I just think that if I worked at Missha I'd make some things differently ;)

What do you think of this product? Have you ever tried anything from Missha?
You can get this lipstick for $15,99 on Missha's website.

Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover

Photobucket

This item was part of a swap with a South Korean girl I posted about a while ago. You probably all know by now how crazy I am about Asian make-up, right? So back when I was choosing the items I wanted to swap for, I realized a primer was missing from my foundation routine and I thought I could get a Majolica Majorca one. Why did I?? I knew that Asian "skin related make-up" almost never works on my skin, but I wanted this to work so badly, just because it looks prettier than any Porefessional or Prep+Prime. So I really wasn't surprised when I realized it wasn't doing anything to brighten my skin/reduce pores or redness or blemishes, just a bit sad. I have tried it a few times and each time I'd say "it's gonna work", but it didn't. Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover retails for about $25, so it's not that cheap. I believe it also broke me out a bit, but my skin is very troublesome at the moment anyway.

Photobucket

The product, as you can see from the photos, comes in a tube. Oh my, such a pretty tube. If you squeeze a bit on the back of your hand, it looks just like foundation (yellowy-beige colour). Once applied all over the face, it doesn't completely disappear: I feel like my skin looks a bit more pink. I then put my Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (mind you, this foundation does a great job of reducing the appearance of pores and brightening the skin on its own), and I couldn't see any difference. In some places where my foundation on its own makes my pores disappear, nothing has happened.

Photobucket

Anyway, I should have known: this primer is not marketed for Caucasian people. I'm a bit sad to have wasted the money.
Have you ever had any experience with Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover, or with another primer from an Asian brand?

Some Mail Love #7: Majolica Majorca, Etude House, Bourjois

Receiving swaps you'd (almost) forgot about is the greatest thing ever, especially if you're not in a good mood. Getting this little box from a girl in Hong Kong cheered me up so much this morning! Let's see what I found in it ♥

Photobucket

I received a Bourjois blush in #15 Rose Eclat. Seriously, this is the prettiest blush ever. The packaging is so feminine and cute, and the shade is perfect for my skintone! I think it also has a bit of gold in it. I'm so happy to have guessed the exact shade I was looking for :D also, I don't think I'm ever gonna use it, but the brush bristles are quite soft and they don't feel cheap.

Photobucket

This post could be named "The pink-themed swap". The item I'd asked V. to get me was the Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex in PK338 (center), but she was so kind to add two other lipglosses: NYX Gloss in RLG 11 Strawberry (left) and *drumroll* a teeny tiny sample sized YSL Rouge Pure Shine! I just died a little when I saw it!

Photobucket

I finally got my hands on Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk in OR202! Actually, it's my first Etude House product ♥ if you're planning on getting a Korean/Japanese lipstick, be very careful and look for swatches on the internet, because the ones on online stores are so deceptive! For example, from the photos on this website you'd expect a sheer, shiny lipstick. It's not! It's rather creamy. The colour is a bit different as well. I really like it anyway! It'll look perfect paired with one of the lipglosses that I received!

Photobucket

The other lip product that I got (lipstick junkie much?) is a Missha Signature Glam Art Rouge in SPK102. I fell in love with the packaging a few months ago and couldn't be satisfied until it was in my hands (I sound creepy now haha!) It's just gorgeous and so elegant. The only thing that disappointed me a bit was the fact that it's made out of plastic. It would've felt more expensive if it was made out of some sturdier material! Anyway, the colour is a really pretty fuchsia with a hint of red and the shape of the lipstick itself is very classy.

Photobucket

The last product is Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover. My routine was missing a primer so I decided I'd get this one. I hope it works even just half as much as it looks pretty!

Today I want.. #4

Photobucket

...Lioele L'Cret Miracle Magic Lipstick. How cool is this? This lipstick is a lipbalm/lipstick which colour changes depending on PH levels and body temperature, and it also has UV protection! Moreover, it's by Lioele, so the packaging is the most precious thing ever. I think this would definitely be be a fun lipstick to put on when you're bored.. I wonder how the green one looks! :D

When in Florence

Photobucket

I was finally able to break my shopping ban last week! I'd been saving for my trip to Florence for so long! I didn't buy much because the prices are insanely high there, but I do enjoy everything that I got. The first shop that I wanted to check out was of course MAC, because -as you will probably know by now- I don't have a MAC store where I live. Since I've been trying to switch to high-end cosmetics "face-wise" since January, I purchased a Studio Finish Concealer for €20. Now I finally know that my skin shade is NC20! I used it just a few times so I don't know what I think about it yet, but I bet I'll be using it every single day from now on!

Photobucket

The other thing that I got from MAC is a lipstick in Modesty. The shade matches my natural lip colour almost perfectly, and the cremesheen finish makes it a very natural lipstick overall. I think it'd be perfect for both Summer and Winter time, so I'm very happy to have bought it!

Photobucket

The Sephora store in Florence was amazing. Smaller than the one in my town, but much more awesome! It had BareMinerals, Urban Decay, OPI.. I wanted to get the Naked 2 so badly, but thankfully I didn't. I just got the BHCosmetics 88 Neutral Colors palette, and if I got the other palette I would have forgotten about it and never used it! It would have been a waste of money, so I'm glad I didn't get it - although I still want it so much!
Anyway, I ended up getting an OPI nail polish. Don't ask me why I didn't take some nail polish and nail polish remover with me! The nail polish I left home with was starting to peel off, I just had to get another one.. so I got OPI's Red My Fortune Cookie! It's a beautiful coral red that I always like to wear in the summer. After buying it, I removed my old nail polish using Sephora Smooth Nail Remover (unexpensive, doesn't work very much) and applied it sitting in a little park with my friends. It went on like a dream and applied super fast! I wouldn't expect nothing less from a product worth €13,50!

Photobucket

I was finally able to get my hands on Lush Tea Tree Water (Acqua di Luna in Italian)! I got a small bottle so I can try it and see if I like it. I really like the fact that it's a spray toner - for some reason I think it's more hygienic than the ones you have to put on a cotton pad! I'll probably do a whole review on this product so stay tuned :)
