G&G A21 Grey (Dueba/Barbie)

I recently got a pair of G&G A21 Grey circle lenses from PinkyParadise.com and I finally have the time to share my thoughts on them with you. The lenses, as usual, came in two glass vials; the package also included a cute lens case.

Design wise, the G&G A21 Gray are very simple. They have a black or dark gray thick outer rim; the colour gradually fades towards the center of the lens, which is transparent. This way, the natural colour of the iris can peek through, giving a nice effect. Although liking the simple design, I have to admit that they're not the most comfortable lenses, nor the best looking on me. Since they're very large (14.0mm) and have a consistent base curve (8.6mm), they give me the dreaded "frog eye" effect. In the photos below I'm not wearing any make-up except for a coat of mascara - maybe with some eyeliner and a pair of falsies they'd look better. For the same reasons, they're not what I'd call a comfortable lens: I had a hard time putting them on, and once I was wearing them I could feel them on my eyes. I'm always very careful with circle lenses because if I feel like they are uncomfortable I'm scared they'll hurt my eyes, so I wore these only for short periods of time. Maybe it's me, but I haven't been able to find any comfortable circle lens for the past few months! Can you recommend any?

My Christmas in photos

petitfaon

A Ladurée recipe book that my friends gave to me as a Christmas present, German chocolates from my aunt, staying in bed all morning and reading, the best present ever!, my Christmas outfit - kind of.

I recently signed up to Instagram and I've been loving it so far! Unfortunately I have to post from my Samsung Galaxy 2 tablet because my phone is a Blackberry and Instagram is not available for Blackberrys. I usually post pictures from my phone on Molome! I'm planning on getting an iPhone for my birthday though :)

I hope you're all having a great holiday season! ♡

Lioele L'cret Miracle lipstick

Remember this post? Well, I finally got the chance to try the Lioele L'cret Miracle lipstick! I was so interested in trying these out because they change colour once you apply them! I got one in #4 Neat Yellow and one in #03 Fresh Green from Keautystore.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I don't know why, but the two lipsticks have different packaging! I really like both. I'm regretting I got both though, because they look pretty similar on the lips. They both come out clear, just like a lipbalm; after a few seconds, they react to the heat of your body and turn to a pinkish red shade. They look like a stain, but they definitely don't last as much. They have the texture, the lasting power and the glossy finish of a lipbalm, but they look like a stain. The photos on the website look a bit deceiving, now that I think about it (but it's like this with 99% of Asian make-up, so no big deal.. I'm used to it)
They don't have any scent, which is nice.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I've been carrying these in my bag for a few weeks now and I've been using them as lipbalms - they're perfect for moisturizing and giving a flush of colour to the lips. Plus, they're definitely not as boring as a Labello lipbalm! ;)
The only downside is the price. For what they do (they're basically lipbalms), they're not worth the $10.20 they retail for on Keautystore. They're fun and cute to look at, and if you have some money to spend on "silly" things like these, I'd suggest you try them. If you're just looking for a lipbalm or lipstain, there are plenty other products to try - such as Tonymoly Petite Bunny Glossy Bars that I'm totally in love with.

Nature Republic Shine Blossom Rose Blusher - #2 Coral Rose

I got this Nature Republic Shine Blossom Rose Blusher in #2 Coral Rose from KollectionK a few weeks ago and even though I'm not much of a blush person, I decided to give this product a go.

Photobucket

The blush comes in a very pretty cardboard box and inside a sturdy tin. It comes with a little powder puff applicator (which, even though it's the cutest thing ever, I'll never use because it's not very hygienic). The first thing you notice when you open the tin is the scent. The product has a very heavy rose scent, it's almost sickening. It goes away after you apply it, but still it's a bit too strong for me! (There's a reason if they called it Shine Blossom Rose, after all.)
The shade is a light corally peach colour and the finish is matte. It doesn't feel powdery or cakey; it's pigmented enough, but it's not insanely pigmented - it takes about 3 application for it to show how I want it to show. It looks quite natural on the skin, as well.

Photobucket

Overall, it's a nice blush, but it hasn't impressed me as much as the other Nature Republic product I tried from KollectionK! This blush is currently on sale for $6.86 on KollectionK.. go check it out if you're interested :)

Etude House My Dear Essence in Lips-talk - EBE101

Good evening everyone :) sorry for being a bit MIA these past few days, but I've been super busy! I finally got my driving licence yesterday and I'm so happy I can't even.
Today I'm excited to talk you about a lovely product by Etude House. I got a My Dear Essence in Lips-talk (longest name ever) in EBE101 from KeautyStore, which some of you maybe know as LiliesShop.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The packaging is gorgeous as everything from Etude House: the lipstick is housed in a light pink pen-shaped case. I usually enjoy "twist-up" make-up, but this one let me down a bit. It's probably my fault, but I twisted up a few times and I think it broke, so now it doesn't go down anymore. It still goes up, but it's a bit annoying, no? The shade I chose is a browny pink, which I absolutely love because it's the perfect "my lips but better" colour. Especially now that I have braces (sigh) I don't like to draw attention on my lips, but I still like to wear something - so this lipstick it's perfect for that. It has a satin finish and it feels very velvety and moisturizing on the lips. It doesn't cling to dry bits as well, so it's great for this time of the year.

Photobucket

Photobucket

If you have tried the Etude House Blooming Lips-Talk, the formula is almost the same, but I prefer this one because it's a bit less dry. It lasts about two to three hours, then it starts to fade and blend with my natural lip colour.
I'm absolutely pleased by this product and I'd get some more if it wasn't for the damaged packaging! If you want to try it for yourself, there are loads of different shades on KeautyStore! Remember to use the code blog115 for 5% off your purchase :)

What would you buy if you won the lottery? As a make-up lover, I'd get all those items I've just only dreamed of. Some of them are unavailable where I live (thank you, Italy), some of them are just too expensive, some of them aren't but I've been too lazy to save up for them. Mind you, these are just high end "Western" (as opposed to Asian) products.. that's about one fifth of my entire wishlist! I might do more posts like this, because seeing my dream make-up products all in one place is so nice. ;)

Some Mail Love #8

Photobucket

How I missed this kind of posts! Today I came home to find a little package from Keautystore (formerly Liliesshop.net). I received an Etude House Dear My Essence Lips Talk in EBE101, a Lioele L'cret Miracle lipstick in #04 Neat Yellow and one in #03 Fresh Green. As a lipstick junkie as I am, I was so happy to get to try these new products! I've just only tried them once and I've been absolutely impressed with them, as with every product from Etude House and Lioele. You will soon read more in-depth review about these, of course!

Nature Republic Eco Crayon Lip Rouge #2

I definitely have a thing for chubby pencil-shaped eye and lip products, and I'm always happy to try new one. I got this Nature Republic Eco Crayon from KollectionK, an online store which focuses on Korean beauty and fashion brands. I had never tried Nature Republic so I was excited to test this product out!

Photobucket

I probably have shown my appreciation towards packaging like this a million times, so I'll just skip this part of the review! I just like the fact that it's so practical and easy to apply!
The lip crayon that I got is in the shade #2, a quite natural berry red. As for the texture and finish, it's almost impossible to compare to the Clinique Chubby Sticks, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains and similar; those are like lipbalms, the Nature Republic one is more like a creamy lipstick. It's quite pigmented but still feels moisturizing, and it kind of reminds me of MAC Cremesheens. It also doesn't have any glitter in it, which is definitely a plus for me. :)
As for the staying power, it will stay on the lips for an hour or two, then it'll start to fade, but nothing major.

Photobucket

I really, really like this product and I'm happy I got the chance to try it. It's only $7,80 at KollectionK, also.

What do you think about Nature Republic? Have you tried anything from them?

Today I want... #9

...Etude House Know Your Body scrub. I know the name sounds a bit creepy, but I think this scrub looks so cute! From the swatch, the consistency looks really interesting, too. I'll probably never try it because there are so many others I can try that are more accessible to me, but still!

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo in Pink Gold

maybelline

maybelline

The Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos were -and still are- very hyped up between bloggers and youtubers,  so when the new Maybelline Fall collection was released I couldn't help but buy one of those. The Maybelline Color Tattoos are cream eyeshadows which come in tons of different colours (if you're lucky enough to live in the US or UK). In Italy they're priced at about €7,00, which is fairly inexpensive for a good quality eyeshadow. The packaging looks a lot like MAC Paint Pot's, it's made of glass and feels sturdy. The newest Maybelline collection included Metallic Pomegranate and Pink Gold, which is the one I chose. It's a light pink with lots of golden sparkles, a very natural colour which is perfect to brighten up the eye area. It's great when used as a base for powder eyeshadow, or simply worn alone. It definitely doesn't last 24 hours (who would wear eyeshadow for 24 hours straight?), but it does last a lot.

I'm going to Rome for the weekend and I'm planning to bring it with me! I hope to do some shopping there. Have you tried the Maybelline Color Tattoos? What do you think about them?

The Beauty Blogger tag

Hello everybody! I was scrolling my Blogger feed earlier and I stumbled upon this post on Beauty and Baggage. I thought the questions were fun so here are my answers! I hope you enjoy!

petit faon

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
Well, I'm a blogger since 2005! I actually had a fashion blog before Le Petit Faon which I opened in 2010, but my inspiration to keep it sort of faded during 2012. I opened this blog in May 2011.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
That's a very hard question! I was following lots of nail blogs last year, but I think the blog I admired the most (and still admire) is LLYMLRS and her beauty blog ETCLLYMLRS.

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product your bought and was it worth the hype?
It might have been the Revlon Lip Butters (very late, I know) who definitely were worth it, or maybe Chanel Le Vernis nail polish in 505 Particulière.. which definitely wasn't.

What are your five favourite things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
I love discovering new products, testing them out and sharing my opinion with others; I love taking care of my blog and making little improvements day by day; I love the fact that blogging made me able to meet beautiful people, both inside and out.

What have you learned from being a beauty blogger?
I learned that I have to be very careful with everything I say! :)

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?
Of course! Last year I knew 10% about make-up and skincare compared to what I know now. And I'm still learning! I have, of course, a bigger make-up collection and a different make-up routine.

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
It's all about the content of your blog. If you make good, in-depth reviews, and if the overall appearance of your blog is nice, followers will come. Never give up - blogging is fun :)

Name your top five beauty brands.
I really don't have a favourite brand because I like trying products from different brands, but if I had to choose they would be Maybelline, Majolica Majorca, Kiko, Urban Decay, Deborah.

Your favorite eyeshadow palette?
My Urban Decay Rollergirl palette or my Inglot customised one. I'm still waiting the Naked 2! ;)

The best beauty deal?
I often get discontinued Dior and Chanel lip or nail products from little beauty shops in my town for very low prices.

Makeup Regrets?
I was quite disappointed with the Estée Lauder Daywear moisturizer and a Lioele Real Vivid Matte lipstick which completely didn't go well with my complexion.

Recommend your top five beauty products.
1) Chanel Vitamlumière Aqua foundation - it gives the skin a wonderful glow, makes the pores appear smaller and imperfection less evident.
2) Tarte Lip Surgence lipsticks - they're practical, pigmented and they come in lots of shades. Too bad I can only get them online!
3) L'Oréal Rouge Caresse in Rebel Red - so moisturizing! And for once, a nice drugstore lipstick that's not glittered :)
4) Bottega Verde Matita occhi intensa in Perla Oro - super inexpensive but so good. Perfect for highlighting the inner corner of the eye.
5) MAC Studio Finish concealer - despite this being in a pot (and that's super unsanitary), it's the only concealer I've tried that manages to cover my blemishes almost perfectly. It's a bit too heavy for the under-eye area, but for spots it's great.

Tag other beauty bloggers to do this post!
I tag every one of you! :)

Avon Extralasting eyeshadow stick

Photobucket

After becoming an Avon rep in September, I decided to start testing out a few of their products. If I was going to sell them, I'd better try them first! I got an Extra Lasting eyeshadow stick in Moonstone for €7,00 (but as you may already know, it changes from campaign to campaign). The product comes in a stick that you twist up just like a lipstick, and I really like it this way! It's very practical if you usually take your make-up with you in your bag, because it takes as much space as a pen.
The eyeshadow itself is a mid-toned brown with almost invisible shimmer. As you can see from the swatch, since it's not super pigmented and a bit stiff as well, I'd recommend to use it as a base, or just by itself if you're going for a natural look. It will cover up the blue veins on the eyelid and give a bit of definition to the eye that way. Since it's almost unnoticeable on the lids, it's hard to tell if it lives up to its name in being extralasting! As I said however, it's a nice base for a quick neutral eye look.

EOS Star Series - Star Pink

mukuchu

mukuchu

I got a pair of lenses from MukuCHU a few days ago and I thought I'd share my thoughts about them with you. The lenses came carefully packed and they included a lens case as well. They looked like the average lenses until I realized they were pink! I'd never owned a pair of pink lenses before these ones, so I was excited and a bit scared at the same time. I was concerned the colour wouldn't suit me until I tried them on and I actually liked what I saw! They are not too flashy and they don't make you look like you're some anime character, mostly because the shade is not solid but it's sheered out. Also, the design is quite natural. The only thing that makes these lenses look unnatural is the size (14.8mm), which made the application a bit tricky. Once on, they were ok - not the most comfortable lenses I've ever tried but they weren't a disaster either. I recommend them if you're going for a full anime look, but also if you're looking for something new and a funny effect :)

Eyeko Fat Eye Stick

eyeko

Now that Winter is approaching, I really feel like experimenting with creme eyeshadows rather than with powder ones. I received this Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Charcoal a few weeks ago from a swap with an American girl and I've really liked it so far! The product comes in a chubby stick, which makes it so cute and very easy to work with. Also, it's a twist-up pencil so no sharpener is needed!

The colour of it is a dark grey, almost black; it has a light silver sparkle, but it's almost unnoticeable. It has a creamy consistency and it glides on the eyelids like a dream! Sometimes cream eyeshadows can be a little stiff, but this absolutely isn't. I blended it with my fingers and the effect was perfectly fine. It definitely can be worn alone or as a base for a powder eyeshadow. This shade is perfect for a smokey eye look - sometimes I feel like black is just too much and I prefer using a grey shade which suits my brown eyes better. I'm looking forward to try some more shades!

eyeko

What do you think about it? Have you ever tried any Eyeko product?

My top 5 neutral lipsticks

Even though I love bold, flashy lipsticks, the ones I wear most of the times are all neutrals - I usually go for "my lips but better" colours. Here are my top 5! They looked so pretty when I swatched them on my hand that I didn't want to take them off!

Photobucket

The first one I want to show you is the most recent addiction to my collection and it's Tarte Lip Surgence in Obsession. I already had one in Flashy and when I was asked if I wanted to swap for it, I couldn't say no! I love the fact that it comes in a chubby pencil. It's as moisturizing as a lipbalm (it also gives that tingly feeling on the lips) and has kind of a sheer finish. The shade is a browny pink, the most wearable colour ever.
The second lipstick is Isadora Perfect Moisture in 153 Bare Berry; the shade is in the same colour family as the Tarte lipstick, but it's a bit darker. It's also creamier, and it has a sheer finish. I love the fact that it's almost a brown but it doesn't make my teeth look yellow at all! (:
The next product is MAC Pink Plaid. This one definitely has a pink, almost mauve colour. It has a matte finish and I love it for a night out when I'm wearing a more dramatic eye look.
Another neutral MAC lipstick is Modesty; it's very similar to the Tarte LipSurgence in shade and finish (but it smells like vanilla ). The last lipstick is a Revlon Lipbutter in 050 Berry Smoothie. Oh, how much I love this one! The perfect pink shade that perfectly mixes with my lips and makes them look less boring.

Sleek i-Divine Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette

Last week I visited my local Sephora after a long time, and I had some pleasant surprises. They are slowly introducing brands that have been popular overseas for years now, such as Urban Decay, OPI and Sally Hansen, but also the UK drugstore brand Sleek! I couldn't help myself from getting the i-Divine Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette.

Photobucket

The packaging is of course sleek - it's black, thin and lightweight. For this reason, I would be a bit scared to carry it in my handbag, but I'm not used to have make-up with me during the day.

Photobucket

The palette comes with a huge mirror -which is always handy- and a long sponge applicator. The dimension of a single pan is about that of a €1 coin (1,5cm diameter).
The thing that convinced me to get this palette is that it comes with twelve matte eyeshadows, which is very hard to find - unless you're not looking for a drugstore product! All the eyeshadows in this palette are highly pigmented and easy to work with. I absolutely love the neutrals in this palette (the last two in the first row, #1, #2, #3 and #4 in the second row) and I'm definitely going to make the most out of it. I only paid €9,90 for this product and I don't regret it! :)
